Toby has always had a passion for politics. Born and raised in the Conservative stronghold of southern Alberta, she developed a strong interest in current events and public affairs, which led her to pursue a career in media. Toby is passionate about working to restore the Canadian dream—ensuring that families can survive and thrive on an honest paycheck and that the dream of homeownership remains attainable, especially for young people. She believes that hard work should be rewarded, not taxed excessively and that our freedoms must be fiercely protected.
As a married mother of two daughters, Toby is a strong advocate for safer communities, committed to a tougher stance on crime, particularly the troublesome local issue of repeat offenders. With nearly 30 years of experience in Okanagan media, at Global Okanagan and her most recent role as co-host of Beach Mornings with Ara & Toby, she has covered the issues that matter most to Okanagan residents. Beyond media, Toby has a wealth of experience as an Okanagan business owner, operating a thriving retail business for over a decade. She has also been a dedicated supporter of numerous local charities, using her time and resources to make a positive impact in the community.
Toby understands the challenges facing local families and businesses and she is unwavering in her commitment to be a voice for people who want fair taxes, safer streets, and a brighter future for their families. Her blend of media experience, entrepreneurial spirit, and community involvement fuels her drive to restore hope and opportunity for the people of Vernon-Lake Country-Monashee.
We need to get back to basics and reduce wasteful spending. Infrastructure investments will be needed for this riding to accommodate the expected expansion. To satisfy our future demands, we must commit to sectors, research, education, enterprises, and technology improving efficiencies and driving economic development.
This riding will rank among the fastest expanding in the nation. We have to reduce the red tape and encourage meeting the requirements for this kind of expansion. Let’s help every community in this riding to lower the expenses of house construction and ownership.
Let’s take less away from hard working citizens and invest in technology, research, and education.
With a growing list of repeat offenders and a catch-and-release system, we are seeing crime on the rise. Without proper measures, treatments, policies, and protection in place, this will lead to continued increases in crime and be a further burden on local services.
Gun-related crimes are not the result of outdoor enthusiasts or law-abiding, screened folks. Money should not be wasted on initiatives unrelated to improving freedom or safety. Redirecting funds towards improved education, strengthened police, and more investment in provincial conservation projects will help to better preserve our lakes, backcountry, and wildlife.
Farming families constitute the foundation of this constituency. The agricultural sector in the Okanagan Valley needs assistance, investment, and incentives. We must allocate resources to research on optimal methods, enhance educational opportunities, and promote expansion and diversity in agricultural output. It is essential to assist the forthcoming generation of farmers to maintain robust crop diversity and productivity in this region. We ought to take pleasure in items manufactured in Canada and assist the agricultural families in this constituency and across Canada.
My resolve to effect change arises from my devotion to my children, family, and friends. Encouraged by neighbors, farmers, and local politicians, I am motivated to establish strong links across many sectors. In this new riding, I acknowledge the significance of cultivating partnerships with industry, businesses, and community organizations to bridge any disparities between residents and my responsibilities in Ottawa. If given the opportunity to serve you, I commit to providing authentic government and unwavering dedication to our new constituency.
